MoeTats is a brand created by tattoo artist Marissa Slater who is based in Lansing, Michigan. Her favorite tattoos that she brings to life are anime inspired and retro era tattoos. Beginning her freelancing journey, Marissa wanted to build a personal brand and portfolio which is how this project began.
As a startup, the fictional client states that they want to increase the amount of subscribers to the Reimagine beta before the official product launch in 2024. How can we create an experience such that the user will be immersed and show interest in trying the beta of AI, Reimagine?
After obtaining the assets for Reimagine, and creating the sitemap, my first impression of the solution was to create a website outlining features (present and upcoming), community works, and user reviews while implying a playful tone.
Combining the assets with rounded typography, and bright colors set the stage set for imagining the final layouts. Thus, groundwork for setting the blue prints up to develop this prototype in Webflow.
Through the design process, involving the client every step of the way was helpful and productive. If anything, it felt like a collaboration between the both of us.
While we were collaborating, being a yes person can be harmful for the end result of the website. I’ve spent hours learning and practicing to get to this point and challenging ideas from the client formed the impression that I am a web designer and expert of my craft.
Although the project is over, I’ve learned to check in here on the client and their website. I maintain the site currently and update it as I learn more and more about Webflow. Clients are important to get but people you enjoy working with makes the work feel like play.
- Work flows are different for everyone and each person will find what works best for them.
- Client goals can heavily influence how you design the solution.
- Content design helps with guiding our users to a great user experience.
